Updates
Follow SoCal Desert Cleanup’s progress as we build the systems, partnerships, equipment, and volunteer capacity required for responsible desert cleanup work. We will publish confirmed milestones, public event information, and completed-work summaries here. We will not present goals as completed results.
August 12, 2026 — Community reporting is open
SoCal Desert Cleanup’s community illegal-dumping reporting tool is active. Residents can place a map pin, describe the waste, select its apparent severity, and optionally add photographs and contact information. Reports help build a clearer record of dumping locations and patterns across Southern California desert communities.
We remain in the launch phase for field cleanups. We are building the permissions, safety procedures, insurance, equipment, hauling, disposal, and volunteer systems required before an organized cleanup can begin. No public cleanup is scheduled at this time.
Current ways to help: report a location from a safe place, express volunteer interest, discuss an equipment or disposal partnership, or make a donation toward launch readiness.
Next milestone: announce the first cleanup only after the site, safety, transportation, and disposal plan is confirmed.
