Donation and Refund Policy

Effective date: August 1, 2026

SoCal Desert Cleanup is a federal 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, EIN 41-2860757. Donations support the organization’s charitable mission and programs. Charitable deductions depend on individual circumstances; donors should consult a tax adviser.

Online donations are processed through Zeffy. Zeffy’s checkout, payment, receipt, and privacy terms also apply. Any optional contribution displayed by Zeffy for its own platform is separate from a donation to SoCal Desert Cleanup and should be reviewed before payment.

Donations are generally final because charitable funds may be committed promptly to nonprofit work. If a donation was made in error, duplicated, submitted without authorization, or charged in the wrong amount, contact tracia@socaldesertcleanup.org within 30 days with the donor name, date, amount, and transaction or receipt number. Requests are reviewed individually and any refund will be made to the original payment method when feasible and consistent with legal and accounting requirements.

Unless a written gift agreement says otherwise, donations may be used where most needed to advance the organization’s charitable purposes. A restricted gift may be redirected or returned if the restriction cannot be honored, consistent with applicable law.
