Report Illegal Dumping
Help document illegal dumping in Southern California’s desert communities. Share a location and description to help build a record of dumping locations and patterns.
This is documentation, not a cleanup-service request. Reporting does not guarantee inspection, removal, agency action or a response from SCDC.
Review safety before reportingBefore you report
- Do not approach active dumpers.
- Do not trespass, touch suspicious or hazardous materials, or enter an unsafe area to gather information.
- Document only what you can observe from a safe and lawful place.
For immediate danger, fire, hazardous spills or a crime in progress, contact 911 or the appropriate public authority. SCDC is not an emergency-response service or law-enforcement agency.

- Context: date and time, where available.
- Photographs: only if available and safe to obtain.
- Contact: optional reporter details and follow-up consent, as described in the Privacy Policy.

Privacy and your report
A report may include location details, waste information, photographs and any optional contact information you provide. The Privacy Policy explains how reporting information may be stored and reviewed by authorized staff, service providers or appropriate public partners.
Submit only details relevant to the dumping location. Do not assume confidentiality or complete security: no internet transmission or storage system is completely secure.
Review reporting privacy informationWhat happens next
Submitted information may be reviewed for community documentation, pattern identification and responsible future planning. A report does not schedule a cleanup or guarantee inspection, removal, enforcement, agency action or a response.
Our Work explains the distinction between current documentation, cleanup readiness and planned field cleanups.
