SoCal Desert Cleanup

Illegal dumping removal, desert restoration, volunteer cleanup, and community partnership initiatives serving the Coachella Valley and Riverside County desert communities.

Protecting SoCal Desert Communities

SoCal Desert Cleanup is preparing to launch illegal dumping removal and desert restoration work across the Coachella Valley and Riverside County desert communities. Donations, equipment sponsors, community partners, and volunteers will help make field operations possible.

Restoring what has been ignored

Our mission is to remove illegally dumped waste, restore damaged desert land, protect natural resources, and strengthen the communities that call the Southern California desert home.

Our deserts deserve better

Illegal dumping damages desert landscapes, increases wildfire hazards, threatens groundwater, and harms wildlife. Field-ready cleanup support helps document dumping hotspots and remove waste before the damage grows.

Report Illegal Dumping

Use the interactive map to document an illegal dumping location, identify the type of trash, and optionally upload photos. Reports help SoCal Desert Cleanup track dumping hotspots and demonstrate the scale of the problem. This is not a cleanup service request.

This is how cleanup begins

SoCal Desert Cleanup needs donated or sponsored trucks, dump trailers, cleanup equipment, fuel, safety gear, and field supplies to begin removing illegally dumped material from desert communities.

This is what we protect

Desert cleanup protects habitat and wildlife including desert bighorn sheep, desert tortoises, roadrunners, birds of prey, and the native plants and open spaces that sustain them.
